Clearly Susan Talks About Cats

by clearlysusan...get updates of free blog posts here

I know this has nothing to do with glassware, but I just have to talk about Cats. I saw this video on grown men playing with little, baby kitties. These big burly men were apprehensive about meeting little tiny kittens. Their reaction is adorable just like these cute, little balls of fur. This video made me think about my own cats when they were kittens.

So much energy, bouncing and playful. This leads me to say they do grow up and now my Simba is 19 years old, and has kidney disease and is almost blind. The doctors say she is not ready to be put down as she is in no pain, she eats well and still runs up and down the stairs. In fact, she gets up and down those stairs better than I do.

Now is her time to be taken care of!  It is her turn. She provided so much joy and love to my whole family that it is only natural that I should take care of her in her old age. I hope someone takes care of me as well as I am taking care of her.

She needs plenty of fluids so I leave the water gently running from the sink faucet in the bathroom as that is the only way she will drink water. It is cold. So I provide a stool for her to jump up on and a towel for her to sit on. She stays up there sometimes and sleeps so she has easy access. I have to lead her to her bowl of food several times a day to be sure that she eats.

Oh! did I mention the vet says she has kitty dementia and Alzheimer's? I have dementia and Alzheimers! This is the blind leading the blind here. Just kidding about me, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Now one more thing...the vet wanted me to stick a needle in her every week and give her fluids. I tried. I really tried, but it did not go well. I couldn't get the needle in, when I did she jumped and it came out, I stuck my self and bleed all over everywhere. Plus it is hard. So I pay $25.00 a week for a tech to come by the house and give her fluids intravenously. Better that she be mad at the tech instead of me. A small price to pay for 19 years of love.

I have to face the inevitable and Simba will have to go to sleep. I had to put two others down and it is painful no doubt. But I have to look at the joy that she brought all of us. One day it will be me and my kids may have to go through that. It is called the cycle of life. We must celebrate the joy of life of all living creatures to ease the pain of them being no more.

I know I said I wasn't going to talk about glassware, but then I did think about the glassware I have painted of cats and wanted to share. These make great cat lover gifts.

It is a lovely way to commemorate our beautiful animals. Let me know what you think?  Have you had to go through this experience yourself?   Tell me.......

Glassware Lasts A Lifetime.....And So DoMemories...Celebrate With Custom Painted Glassware By Clearly Susan

As we state in our mission we strive to provide the best quality service and create the best hand painted glassware available. We take pride in our craftsmanship and the relationships

that we build with our customers.

Our blog is designed not just to showcase our custom hand-painted glassware, but to build a following of loyal customers and engagers who love creativity and design themselves. We want them to share their own creative ideas. We want interaction and conversations from them and among them to find out what really inspires them so that we can provide better designs. We do that through interaction and growing our email database.

We want other bloggers to contribute their thoughts on creating and design ideas in the glassware field as well as the field of arts and crafts. We don't want it to be where other crafters and artist sell their brand, although we don't mind letting them provide a link. But we want thoughts and comments on what designs really move them so that we can collectively inspire each other.

Hand painted Glassware For Dinner Parties by Clearly Susan

Clearly Susan.....

Utilize Our Hand painted Plates, Glasses, Cups and Saucers At Your Next Dinner Party

Dinner Party Etiquette......Who knew that there was still such a thing! Please, didn't that go out in the 60's or at least the 70's? Well, I know for a fact that it didn't in the true South as it is the Southern way to have good manners, mind your P's and Q's and for heaven sake set a nice table.

Well, I must confess I am joking about does Dinner Party Etiquette still exist. Yes, it does, but what is so delightful is that now days you can set your table with a hodge podge of plates and crystal and it will turn out beautiful. I love the fact that you don't have to have matching plates, glasses, etc. Anything goes.....it is all left to your imagination. Now you can express your own true style which is what it should be.

Anyway....thought you might like this article "Dinner Party Etiquette What You Should Know About It". It has some blast from the past on how vintage dinner parties were once conducted written by Emily Post in 1922(The Queen of Etiquette, and I say that reverently).

Now remember, I advise everyone to do exactly what they want to do and be as creative as possible with your parties. It is your party so you handle it the way you think is best. Also, check out their resources tabs on the left for recipes, what kind of drinks to serve and even centerpieces. Be sure to dig deep as there are some real resource goodies inside.

I have included some items that we offer that might spruce up a luncheon or even a summer dinner party.

Yellow Wildflowers hand painted on cups and saucers, dinner plates, water glasses and whole set of serving pieces.
